This is probably our shortest blog post with the longest heart-felt message ever! But we feel led to share it with you because our conscience is tugging at us!
We don’t know any other way to say this – except to just blurt it out. Cut the following things out of your life:
absurdity, aggrandizement, agitation, alcoholism, anger, bitterness, blind ambition, callousness, corruption, cruelty, demeaning comments, deceit, dishonesty, deception, drug addiction, envy, excess, excuses, fear, filth, fraud, gluttony, greed, hatred, harshness, hostility, hypocrisy, idiocy, immorality, incompetence, indecency, insincerity, jealousy, laziness, litigation, littering, maliciousness, manipulation, materialism, narcissism, negativism, neglect, nit-picking, over-indulgence, paranoia, passivity, pessimism, prejudice, profanity, quarrelsomeness, resentment, redundancy, repugnancy, rhetoric, rudeness, scuzziness, self-centeredness, self-doubt, shortsightedness, snobbishness, substance abuse, thoughtlessness, tokenism, toxic behavior, underhandedness, unfounded suspicions, unsportsmanlike conduct, unnecessary pain, violence, wastefulness, wolfishness, workaholism, and spiteful yakkity-yak.
Why are we so adamant about these ‘soul corruptors’? Because anyone who professes concern about the welfare of others but remains unconcerned about the poverty that imprisons them, the social inequalities that bury them, the economic conditions that strangle them, the built-in dangers they face, and the prejudices that disenfranchise them is speaking from a value-corrupted position.
So, what do you think? Let’s all improve ourselves with a spiritual practice of personal soul surgery … as we free ourselves and together walk the spiritual path on practical feet.
