Metaphysical Mother Goose: Interpreting “Mary Had a Little Lamb”

Metaphysical interpretation isn’t just for the Bible! It can be applied to anything!

For us, a metaphysical interpretation of ANYTHING means seeing people, places, things, and events that happen ‘out there’ as human and spiritual qualities, talents, and abilities – as well as faults – within us.

From a metaphysical perspective, people and events, animals, cities, and locations are all aspects and qualities within us. Metaphysical interpretation takes any kind of written literature beyond the literal interpretation by providing more allegorical, esoteric, and metaphorical perspectives to uncover the hidden wisdom and spiritual teachings contained therein. To show you what we mean, take a look at our Metaphysical Interpretation of Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Mary Had A Little Lamb ~ a Metaphysical Perspective

Mary is a beautiful little girl

who lets her Inner Light shine.

And her radiance is pure and wholesome.

Wherever Mary is, her innate divinity shines.

She told everyone at school about her Inner Light,

which was against school policy.

Nevertheless she told several of her friends

that they, too, had an Inner Light.

When they heard this they joyfully laughed and played

 because they were so happy.

The teacher reminded them

not to talk about spiritual things at school;

but the children’s Inner Lights still shown brightly,

especially in Mary, who had listened to her inner voice

so she could be a good example for others.

“How can our lights shine like Mary’s?”

 the eager children ask.

“Don’t let a day go by

without letting your lights shine,” the teacher replied.
